Modal verb adalah jenis kata kerja bantu (auxiliary verb) dalam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan bersama dengan kata kerja lain untuk menyatakan kemungkinan, keharusan, kemampuan, atau izin.

1. Can: bisa ngasih tahu kalau kamu bisa melakukan sesuatu.
I can eat a whole pizza by myself!


2. Could: ini kayak versi retro dari "can", sering dipakai buat cerita-cerita zaman dulu.
